Dance Like Everybody’s Watching

In 2020, Simone directed and produced the documentary Dance Like Everybody's Watching, which follows three Black dancers in Victoria, BC as they expose their worlds of flamenco, hiphop and dancehall. While the dancers grapple with racism, tokenism, and stereotypes, we are reminded that dance is always political.

Testimonials

“Simone helped watch my son who at the time was a little over 2 weeks… I don’t think she understands the gratitude I hold in my heart for her because of the amount of times she came over and allowed me to recharge my mommy batteries and fully be able to be there for my newborn during the day, and for that I am forever grateful” - Maryan M.
